Home Remedies For Body Odor

One of the hardest things about being active is finding time. Many of us squeeze in workouts at lunch or between errands. We do not want to stink afterward. If you try to use less chemical ingredients in your life here are some home remedies for body odor.

Home Remedies For Body Odor

Shave your pits!

I’m not anti-arm hair but underarm hair is a haven for bacteria that can really stink! You need to get rid of it so that it doesn’t hide from you when you wash and collect sweat that is a breeding ground for bacteria. Shaving your armpits isn’t hard to do and it will make it easier to get rid of that stink!

Antiseptic cleaning

Body odor grosses everyone out because it’s actually the smell of bacteria breeding out of control. No wonder how you smell is so important!

The best way to get rid of this growth is to clean it up. You can use rubbing alcohol to vanquish smelly bacteria or hydrogen peroxide or even vinegar to kill the creeps.

Witch hazel is your friend

After you are shaved and cleaned, dab on some witch hazel. This cuts back on how quickly the bacteria can grow back before you need to clean them up again. Prevention is better than a cure and there is no time like right now to prevent body odor.

It’s also cooling so after a workout dab or splash witch hazel for happy, healthy skin.

Buy new shoes

Yep, it’s not just your armpits, your feet stink too. Why are you keeping those stinky old things around? If you smell your shoes and your nose wrinkles it’s time to buy a new set of shoes. Even if your feet start off smelling like roses putting them into a fetid stink lair is going to make them smell like yuck by the end of the day.

Natural deodorant

Baking soda and cornstarch help to keep you dry and absorb odors. Pat some on under your arms and anywhere else you get sweaty. Alone or as a combination baking soda and cornstarch will keep bacteria down and freshness up.

Take a shower

This one just has to be said. Seriously, are you showering regularly? Keeping clean is vital to your health as well as your scent!

Apple cider vinegar

ACV is an amazing substance. You can use it under your arms or on your feet, you can put a cup or two in the bath with you. ACV is great for getting rid of sweat. Perhaps most remarkable is that if you drink it, it will cut down on how much you sweat. Less sweat also means less bacteria growth so there is less stink to start off with.

Tea tree oil

Tea tree oil is antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-stink. Put it on your feet, in your bath and under your armpits. Use it in your shoes to keep them from stinking too. It’s another natural way to get rid of body odor.
